General rules for inputting Google search parameters:

all of the words in a series

Type the important words: tricolor rat terrier

an exact word or phrase

Type OR between all the words you want: miniature OR standard

any of the words in a series

Type the important words: tricolor rat terrier

none of the words in a series (exclude the file with the words)

Put a minus sign just before words you don’t want: -rodent, -“Jack Russell”

numbers ranging from: nnn to: nnn

Put 2 periods between the numbers and add a unit of measure: 10..35 lb, $300..$500, 2010..2015

restrict a search to a series of years

For each year, precede the value with inurl:*nnnn such as inurl:*1964 inurl:*1965 inurl:*1966 with each year-set separated by a space.

(There is no true date-range capability here; instead we’re using a portion of the PDFs’ filenames to identify the year the edition was published.)
